Entries dated before August 2001…

GIGS: Friday night we played at Impact Theater in Palmyra. Everyone enjoyed playing that venue and hopes to go back next year. The set was a little different from usual, we did a forty-minute set of originals and a couple covers, and then a thirty-minute set of worship. In between, the Theater held an intermission, complete with awesome desserts. Then everyone returned to the Theater room for a short skit written by the man who runs the Theater.
UPCOMING: Next on the calendar for The Unknown Hour is the P&W Service at Faith to Faith. Then on August 10th, the band will be playing at The Net. This is an update to the calendar, after the cancellation of the August road trip.
MEMBERS: Tommy's surgery has been scheduled - keep him in prayer for August 15th.

GIGS: Last night we played at The Refuge. The Lord really blessed the band and everyone else there. The evening was filled with God's presence and the night ended in an awesome time of Praise and Worship. People were even dancing, which is something that Aubrey has been praying on for a long time. The band also introduced their rendition of "Light the Fire Again," a great improvement on their rendition of it from a year ago. Remember that?
UPCOMING: Next Friday, the 20th, the band will be playing at Impact Theater in Palmyra. It should be an awesome time - complete with awesome refreshments and drama provided by the Theater. Also, The Unknown Hour will be leading a special P&W service on August 4th at Faith to Faith Fellowship. It will be a solid hour (plus) of worship.
BUMMER: The band's road trip to PA was cancelled because of scheduling conflicts at the PA church. We are looking for other shows to book that weekend.

GIG: Last night The Unknown Hour played their fifth gig at The Net in Charlotte. It had rained most of the day, but the weather cleared up and by the time the band got to The Net, it was a mild, clear evening! Before the band actually started playing, Aubrey seemed as though she was going to refuse to come inside - she stood out on the front sidewalk and played her guitar, using the excuse "I have to make the most out of my new 25 foot cable." Aubrey also used her new amp for the first time with the band. (She'd used it the previous evening at a special gig with her dad!). We all missed Scotty (his sister graduated from high school yesterday so he was unable to join us) but the Holy Spirit was behind us and made it one great evening! We departed from the set-list, and even randomly jammed on "More of You" - a song half the members of the band hadn't even played before!
After the show, the band and some friends went down to Abbott's for custard, and many people witnessed Aubrey and Cyndy doing cartwheels on the brick platform at the end of the street.
UPCOMING: The band is having a few weeks off, now, but never fear! They will be back in full force at 6pm on July 13th at The Refuge on Monroe Ave (inside Rochester Urban Center). Also, Aubrey will be appearing with Wales Road on July 7th at Sons of God Coffeehouse in LeRoy.

PRAISE: Today The Unknown Hour participated in a community outreach event in a drug neighborhood in Rochester. The mission of the outreach was to love and serve people, and reach them with the love of Christ. Fifteen children came to know the Lord!!!!! Also, one of the people who helped put the event together shared a testimony about the deliverance from drugs and alcohol that God had performed in her life. There was also one on one ministering going on, and just reaching out through games and face painting and - FOOD!! The Holy Spirit moved in this neighborhood and we know in our hearts it will never be the same. Special thanks to Mike and Jason and Michelle, and Index Patient and Stacy and Dave! And thanks to everyone else as well!! Thanks for asking us to play, we were blessed to be a part of this event, and we hope to do more!
EQUIPMENT: Tommy got his Tele a few days ago, and used it at practice on the 15th. It hasn't made it's first public appearance, but keep your eyes open next Saturday!
UPCOMING: We'll be playing at The Net this Saturday, June 23rd at 730. It should be a pretty exciting gig, we're changing the format a little, you may hear a lot more originals, including something old - very "old" - that's never been performed in public?!?!?!? Scary!

UPCOMING: Just a reminder about the upcoming community outreach event - e-mail Aubrey for more info. More and more God is confirming that His presence will be poured out on the event, and that we not only have His blessing but His promise as well! Please remain in intercession over this event, which will be taking place all afternoon on the 16th. It is located in an inner-city drug neighborhood, but God goes before us and therefore we will not be afraid! Pray also for Index Patient, and Dave and Stacy Dunn, the other musical acts scheduled to perform, as well as all the other people who have come to serve God in this event!

EQUIPMENT: Aubrey got a new bass amp for her birthday - a 100 watt Fender BXR bass amp, much like the one she used to borrow from Scott except it has wheels and handles. Also, Tommy should be getting his Tele any day now...
UPCOMING: The PA tour is official, the Unk-H will be leaving August 10th. As soon as possible, the information will be up on the events page, so keep checking!

GIGS: On Saturday, The Unknown Hour played their second gig at Iron Mike's Chapel Cafe. This venue is awesome for a lot of reasons, including the fact that it really is held inside a military surplus store. The set was a solid two hours, and the band introduced "Sojourn" as a full-band number. (See below). Robin ran sound for the band again at this show, his work is always much appreciated. If he hadn't offered to run sound for us regularly, we would have been tempted to take him by force. Fortunately for all of us, Robin offered! We also had some special guests that evening, after the usual Solo/Acoustic set. First, Brian and Jenny Taylor got up and jammed on "Awesome God." These kids are an awesome testimony of God's power because they are both deaf but VERY talented musicians. Brian plays bass on the worship team at Faith to Faith Fellowship, and Jenny will be playing guitar in her school's stage band next year. After they played, the entire audience began yelling, "WE WANT JOHN! WE WANT JOHN!" So Johnny Cash Rice got up and playing "I Love Your Grace" while the audience bounced around and sang praises to God!
SONGS: As mentioned above, "Sojourn" was introduced Saturday in it's full-band form. Once again God had arranged the song in His most awesome way - a way Aubrey never imagined when she introduced the song to the band on Friday! Aubrey was playing rhythm guitar just to teach Tommy the part, but meanwhile he started playing leads on his own acoustic guitar. So Scott picked up Aubrey's bass and laid down the perfect bass-line. Well, instead of going back to their normal positions they decided to keep the song that way. Sue added in just the perfect drum beat and Cyndy found some great harmonies. Then at the show Saturday she added in a high oboe part, which just completed the song. Another testimony that reminded us it's not us, it's Him!!
EQUIPMENT: Tommy recently got an awesome deal on a Line 6 POD ("with floorboard") and a Fender Telecaster. He will be receiving them via UPS within the next few weeks so look for him to be using them within the next couple shows.
BIRTHDAYS: If you see Aubrey and/or Scott, don't forget to wish them Happy Birthday! They will both be turning 21 on June 7th.

GIGS:
The Net. God really blessed the show Friday, We got started a little late, which is why we are called "The Unknown Hour" (just kidding). A friend, Robin, ran sound for us and did an awesome job. We saw a bunch of new faces in the audience and God blessed them and us. Along with Sue's new drumset, and Tommy and Aubrey were both using their new mics. The set was a solid two-hours, and a few new songs were introduced during the solo/acoustic set. These songs may be worked into the full-band set within the next few shows, so keep your ears open!
UPCOMING: A third May gig is coming up on Saturday the 26th at Chapel Cafe, inside Iron Mike's Military Surplus shop, in Webster. The Unknown Hour appeared there this past January, and is looking forward to returning!

WEBSITE: Today I decided to make a page dedicated to keeping you guys informed about what's going on in the Realm of The Unknown Hour.
GIGS: Last night we played a gig at Webster Christian Reformed church, Sue's home church. It was actually a Youth Rally/Worship Service, so there were about a hundred people there! Wow! On lead guitar (and vocals) for the evening was Aaron Bachelder, frontman and rhythm guitarist for the Vermont-based band Discern. Scott was unable to join us because of school :( but Aaron did just awesome in his place. This was also Cyndy's first gig playing her new Fender acoustic - awesome!
RECORDING: Praying on recording a four or five song CD over the summer! At the show on the 29th the band met the owner of a studio in Dansville. Keep us in prayer, we're thinking about going in mid-June!!
MEMBERS: Exam week is close at hand! AHHHHHHHH!!!
