MUSIC...

(Is that what we're supposed to be doing?)

This page is intended to provide you with a brief description of what The Unknown Hour is musically.

In our purest form, we are a five-member band, consisting of a rhythmn guitarist, lead guitarist, keyboardist, bass player, and drummer. You'll note that we have no "vocalist". We're all vocalists, because we all love to sing praises to the LORD our God. He has provided us each with a voice with which to sing, and you will note that each of us has their own style. I guess that's so we can have as much variety as possible!!!

Our origonals are growing in number all the time. Each song has a testimony behind it and we like to share those stories. A good example would be "The Beat Up Old Honda Song". How could a song with a name like "The Beat Up Old Honda Song" NOT have some kind of testimony behind it? We have each come to discover that we are never happy with what we write unless the LORD is the true inspiration behind a song, and it's almost impossible to say that HE wasn't the true author of the song.

We do are covers as well, and of course our renditions of praise songs. We have a little blend of everything in our sets, but we focus around alternative, rock and some blues. Some of our favorite bands and musicians to cover are Delirious, Darrell Evans, Lincoln Brewester, and Paul Baloche. As we are a Christian band we don't do many covers of secular tunes unless they have a strongly spiritual message. Occasionally we take requests for praise and worship tunes.

If you've been to any of our gigs you'll notice we do a short acoustic/solo/duet set in the middle of our show. We like this because it gives us a time to share other things we may never play as a band. It also gives the other band members time to "chill out" so we don't really have to "take a break". It's a great time of fellowship too!!!

At times we have special guests play after our solo set. We are very blessed by the musical gifts the Lord has given our brothers and sisters in Christ and want to share those talents with others. Our favorite special act is JohnnyCashRice aka Daddy aka PapaJohn.

Whatever is going on musically the one and only focus of The Unknown Hour is our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. We pray that what we play is a blessing to everyone who hears it, to glorify HIM.
