DAWN IN VANCOUVER: HOLLYWOOD NORTH 2007 VANCOUVER
Please note that as of January 1, 2007 all travellers to Canada and the USA will require a Passport. Please note if you are bringing a child or a pet with you, you may require additional paperwork.
Now for the fun stuff. I hope you don't mind me nattering on until we get to the Links section.
According to TripConnect.com, San Francisco and Seattle have nothing on our city. We have Robson Street, Pacific Centre Mall, and the funky shops in Yaletown. Melanie (the convention director) says, that the Sutton Place Hotel is at Robson Street and Burrard Street. Tiffanys just opened in Vancouver and is on the same block. Moviestars stay for extended stays at our hotel of choice. Moviestars can be spotted shopping along the trendy Robson Street stores. However, I do recommend that you hop on the Skytrain at Burrard Street Skytrain Station and get off at Metrotown Centre. Here are hundreds of stores for every budget and a variety of Restaurants.
For sightseeing, there is tons to do in downtown Vancouver. You can visit Caprica City sights: check out our new Library, that was modelled after the Roman Coliseum. See our old Canada Post building, most important for all those Ebay transactions! Walk down Homer Street to see the Yaletown shops featuring wares for the home. Walk down Granville Street for an interesting view of a large city and check our Canada's first Merchant, the Hudson's Bay Company. See Gastown, which was where the first settlement in Vancouver was. Head to the waterfront and see our old Seabus Terminal and a great view of the inlet and North Vancouver! Take the Seabus across to North Vancouver and shop at the Quay or go in the other direction and take the Skytrain to Melanie's city of New Westminster and check out New Westminster Quay and take the Paddlewheeler boat down Fraser River. There's Gardens galore to see. In Chinatown we have the Sun Yat Sen Gardens, in Vancouver there is the Queen Elizabeth Conservatory, in downtown Vancouver is Stanley Park (sadly it got hit bad by the worst storm in 40 years in November, but should be re=opened in time for August). In North Vancouver is the scary Capilano Suspension Bridge, Salmon Fisheries, Lynn Canyon Suspension Bridge, Grouse Mountain Skyride and Grouse Mountain at the Top.
We also have West Vancouver, Richmond, Port Moody and Coquitlam cities with their own special charm.
