Dan Drewry and John Klehr

Dan Drewry is a talented singer and guitarist from Apalachin. He sings new and old songs that are enjoyed by all. He will share the June coffeehouse with John Klehr a banjo player, guitarist and fretted dulcimer player from Hillcrest. John includes many songs of the early 20th century in his repertoire.

Both musicians are long time performers at the Cranberry Coffeehouse and other area venues for traditional music. It is a pleasure to have Dan and John end the Cranberry's 2004-2005 season.

The Seneca Moon String Band

The eclectic Seneca Moon String Band was formed in Corning, New York in 1986. This Southern Tier based group plays southern Appalachian and Celtic music using more than 20 instruments to maintain the authentic sounds they create.

You can expect a varied collection of performers. There are usually at least 5 musicians whose week-day alter egos include professionals and academics. They play the hits of the '60s, '70s, and '80s--1660s, 1770s, and 1880s, that is. Past perfomances have included stellar harp playing and a glass harp that we won't even begin to describe. This is the kind of music-making that offers good humor, joy in playing, and affection from the audience in equal doses.

Laura Orshaw and Friends

Do you like Celtic, Bluegrass and Oldtime Fiddle?

At age 10, Laura learned to play mandolin and guitar from paternal grandmother and regional oldtime musician, Betty Orshaw. By age 13, she had recorded the highly acclaimed fiddle project, "The Grizzly Bear Chair".

Currently, Laura performs regularly as a duo with her father, Mark. She also fiddles with premier Northeastern bluegrass band, The Lonesome Road Ramblers.

Christopher Shaw

Christopher Shaw is back by popular request for an evening of unique old and new songs and stories from the Adirondacks filled with Chris' very special kind of humor. As a descendant of steamboat pilots, "pathfinders," and other rustic archetypes of the Adirondack region of New York State, Chris Shaw is steeped in the lore of the American Northeast. Chris has done some steamboat piloting of his own, but it is in his professional role as a recording artist/performer that he carries forward the tradition of the great troubadours and storytellers who have enlivened parlors, taverns, and roadsides since America's colonial times.

Heidi and John Cerrigione
Heidi and John Cerrigione hail from Connecticut, singing and playing old timey American folk music on autoharp, guitar and bass in their first Coffeeshop appearance here. They make fine harmonies, indeed.

Their tunes are drawn from many traditional sources, including fiddle and dance music of early America, the British Isles and Switzerland. Jigs, reels, hornpipes and waltzes all find a place in the lineup.

Heidi and John have been featured performers and taught classes at the annual Cranberry Dulcimer Gathering in Binghamton, NY.
